First-Vice President of the Russian National Geopolitical Academy, Konstantin Sivkov said that Saudi Arabia had succumbed to US pressure and abandoned the Russian S-400 air defence system deal.

“Saudi Arabia applied for the Russian missile defence system, but it has succumbed to pressure from the United States, which led to it rejecting the deal,” Sivkov said in an interview with Russia’s Today Show.

Sivkov pointed out that “Turkey has also been under pressure from the US administration, but Ankara has decided to acquire the S-400 system” despite that pressure.
