Media professionals call for decisive position against Al Arabiya

Arab media professionals and Twitter users launched a serious attack on social media websites against Saudi Arabian Al Arabiya news TV channel, on the backdrop of a documentary film promoting the story of the Israeli occupation’s confiscation of the Palestinian land and holy sites.

The Forum of Palestinian Journalists has strongly condemned what it described as the “serious slip” of Al Arabiya channel. The Forum said in statement on its website, that Al Arabiya TV channel has decided abandon its Arab loyalty.

It neglected the central cause of the Arab nation. In a suspicious attempt to obliterate historical facts Al Arabiya channel has recently aired a documentary film entitled “Al Nakba,” in which it talked about the “the Jews’ Nakba” that forced them to establish a homeland for them in Palestine.

He added:

“This documentary, which leaves out all human, national, and religious values, is even more dangerous as it coincides with plans to undermine the Palestinian cause further through the ‘Deal of the Century’ promoted by the US administration and led by President Donald Trump.

This raises many questions about Al Arabiya’s role in serving such plans and its efforts to corrupt Arab awareness and history through the dissociation from historical facts.”

The Forum called Al Arabiya to apologise to the Arab public, delete the aforementioned documentary from its website, not to air it again in any way, and to compensate for its mistake by producing a series of documentaries about the Palestinian people’s suffering under the abhorrent occupation’s constraints.

The Forum also called on the Arab media ministers to “take a decisive position on this crime and to hold the TV channel’s administration accountable for allowing the production and airing of such a documentary.” The Federation of Arab Journalists called for the need to take the necessary measures in the face of normalisation with the Israeli occupation, and to thwart all attempts to falsify the Arab generations’ awareness.

The forum urged the Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic media to intensify the production and broadcast of documentaries condemning the occupation of the land of Palestine, and establishing the truth about Arabism and Islamism in the land of Palestine.

The Forum of Palestinian Journalists called on the international media outlets to make a professional and objective commitment to address the Palestinian issue, not to be biased to the Israeli occupation’s narrative, and to uphold the values ​​of humanity and justice in this field.
