US secretary of state meets with Abu Dhabi crown prince

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday held talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments, Anadolu reports.

During the talks in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the two men discussed “bilateral cooperation and both countries’ desire to strengthen relations, especially in terms of the fight against terrorism and extremism”, according to the UAE’s official WAM news agency.

Pompeo’s visit to Abu Dhabi, the duration of which has not been made public, comes within the context of a wider tour that has also brought him to North Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Afghanistan.

He is expected to wrap up his tour in Belgium on Thursday.
