Any aid being sent to the besieged Gaza Strip must pass through “the legitimate Palestinian ministries” in occupied Ramallah, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah has told donor countries.

In an interview with Palestine Voice, Labour Minister Mamoun Abu Shahla reported that Hamdallah made the statement to donors.

“There is only one government in Palestine,” Abu Shahla said. “It is the National Agreement Government which was accepted by all parties. It is the sole responsible for working in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.”

OPINION: Palestinians are being impoverished by the manipulation of humanitarian aid

“The government takes up its responsibilities regarding electricity, water, education and health sectors. Therefore, there must not be external interference in these sectors except through the legitimate governments.”
