Unemployment rate stabilises in Tunisia

Tunisia’s unemployment rate remained at 15 per cent in the second quarter of 2018, the Anadolu Agency reported.

“The number of unemployed has reached 638,000 compared to 634,200 in the first quarter of 2018,” Tunisia’s National Institute of Statistics reported.

The country’s unemployment rate has recorded only a slight increase, having reached 15.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2018 compared to 15.2 in the first quarter of the year.

The rate saw a slight decline for holders of university degrees, from 29.3 per cent in the first quarter of 2017 to 29.2 per cent in the same period last year.

The country’s unemployment rate stood at 15.5 per cent in the last quarter of 2017.
