Morocco man sets himself ablaze after dispute with his wife

A Moroccan man has set himself on fire following a dispute with his wife, local media reported.

Moroccan media quoted eyewitnesses as saying that “a minor dispute broke out between the husband who is in his 40s and his wife who decided to leave the house and return to her parents’ home, prompting the angry husband to set himself on fire”.

Local sources said the newly married victim bought petrol and entered his in-laws house and set his body on fire, adding that the wife’s family quickly acted to prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of his body.

The man was transferred to the intensive care unit at the Ibn Tofail University Hospital in Marrakech.
