Palestinian factions yesterday condemned the US decision to close the PLO office in Washington, stressing this proves that the US “is dedicated to protect Israel and coverup its crimes against the Palestinians”.

Member of Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) Tayseer Khalid described the US move as “naïve” and “immature”.

Khalid, who is a member of the PLO Central Committee, also said that the American measure aims to “protect” Israel from being held accountable for “crimes it carried out against the Palestinians since 1967, including settlement.”

Meanwhile, Hamas said the closure was “proof” off the failure of the negotiations in solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Hamas went on to highlight “Israeli crimes against the Palestinians” which “continued and have been ignored by the whole world” while negotiations continue.
