Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi yesterday agreed to “mobilise” international funding for the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Quds Pressreported.

The officials met on the sidelines of the Arab League meeting in Cairo to discuss the UNRWA crisis and ways to resolve.

They stressed the importance of Egyptian-Jordanian cooperation regarding “mobilising” international funding for UNRWA and intensifying mutual discussions to tackle the humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

UNRWA is suffering from a severe budget crisis as the US terminated aid payments worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
