A member of the Saudi royal family has reported that her jewellery were stolen from her suite at the Ritz hotel in Paris, France’s La Voix du Nord reported yesterday.

The unnamed royal woman claimed that the stolen jewellery was worth €800,000 ($926,886.40) and was taken on Friday.

French police have opened an investigation into the robbery and said the jewels were not in a safe in the room and there was no sign of forced entry into the princess’ room.

This is the second time the Paris Ritz Hotel has been struck by thieves in under a year. In January, an armed gang made off with around €4 million ($4.6 million) worth of jewels from shops inside the lobby after they used axes to smash the display cases.

In October 2016, the American reality television star Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint  after an armed gang stormed her Paris apartment making off with around $9.5 million worth of jewellery.
