Morocco yesterday said it would deported 141 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa who attempted to storm the Spanish enclave of Melilla on Sunday.

“The public forces have intervened to thwart the storming attempt which resulted in arresting 141 illegal immigrants and the injury of 12 soldiers and a member of the auxiliary forces,” the Moroccan interior ministry said in a statement.

According to statement, one person died after falling off the seven-metre border fence and 22 others were injured by the barbed wire.

Turkey’s Anadolu Agency quoted a source as saying that nearly 300 migrants attempted to storm the border fence, adding that 200 of them entered Melilla.
