US-PA plan to arrange visit of CIA chief to Ramallah

CIA Director Gina Haspel - Wikipedia

Israeli public radio revealed yesterday that the US has contacted the Palestinian Authority (PA) to arrange a visit by CIA Director Gina Haspel to the occupied West Bank in the coming weeks, Quds Press said.

Despite the tension and division between the PA and the White House following the relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem and the Trump administration's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's undivided capital, both sides continue their security cooperation, Israeli radio reported.

According to the radio station, meetings between the CIA and the chief of the PA intelligence services Majed Faraj have not ceased.

The US has stopped its support for the UNRWA and other PA programmes, but continues paying tens of millions to the PA security services.
