Israel will be most affected by the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Israeli writer Ronen Bergman wrote yesterday in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

Ronen expected the death of the Saudi journalist would have obvious consequences on the Middle East, especially Israel which has remained silent on the issue.

According to Arabi21, Ronen wrote: “[Mohammad] Bin Salman’s vision for the Middle East is a central issue for leaders like [US President] Trump and [Israeli Prime Minister] Netanyahu, especially after the increasing Saudi-Israeli cooperation, backed by the US, against Iran, Hezbollah, Assad and Jihadists.”

“Bin Salman developed this vision, but his wings are cut now and if he remains in his position [as crown prince], he will be unable to continue his secret steps – offering intelligence services. His tremendous resources would be severely harmed.”

Ronen wandered about the Saudi “stupidity” as the members of the hit-team which murdered Khashoggi committed many mistakes which could have been avoided by the intelligence.

He noted that the New York Times easily identified members of the hit-team with Bin Salman’s close circle. “This, of course, proves Bin Salam’s involvement,” he said.
