MBS to US: Khashoggi was a dangerous Islamist

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman described journalist Jamal Khashoggi as a dangerous Islamist days after his disappearance, the Washington Post reported today.

In a call with US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and national security adviser John Bolton the de-facto ruler of Saudi added that Khashoggi was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Saudi has been working to preserve relations with the US following the disappearance and murder of Khashoggi in their consulate building in Istanbul, Turkey, on 2 October.

As Turkey releases deatails of Khashoggi’s brutal murder, there have been international calls for the US and its allies to cease arms sales to Saudi Arabic, which has been bombing the Middle East’s poorest nation, Yemen, since 2015.

Khashoggi’s family denied claims he was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.
