Report: 1.3m expats left Saudi private sector since 2017

As many as 1.36 million expatriates working in the Saudi private sector have left their jobs between January 2017 and the end of September 2018, the Anadolu Agency reported.

The agency said it has used data from the Saudi General Organisation for Social Insurance which includes data on all Saudi and expatriate employees working in the private sector.

According to the report, the number of expatriate workers fell to 7.13 million at the end of the third quarter of this year, compared to 8.49 million at the end of 2016.

Meanwhile, the number of Saudi employees has increased to 1.72 million by the end of the second quarter of this year, compared to 1.68 million in 2016.
