A Moroccan woman has been charged with murder after she confessed to killing her boyfriend and serving his remains as food for local workers in the United Arab Emirates.

Although the murder reportedly took place some three months ago, the crime was only discovered last week after a human tooth was found in her blender by the victim’s brother. The man went on to report his brother missing to Al-Ain police, who carried out DNA tests on the tooth and confirmed it belonged to the victim.

The Moroccan national had been in a relationship with the victim for seven years but killed him after he announced his intention to marry someone else.

After being questioned about the man’s disappearance by police, the woman, who is in her 30s, confessed to the murder, calling it a moment of “insanity”, stating that she had wanted revenge after financially providing for her lover for several years.

While police did not reveal how the victim was killed, they did reveal that his girlfriend had subsequently minced and cooked her partner, and served up his remains as part of a traditional rice and meat dish to some Pakistani nationals working nearby. The leftovers were fed to neighbourhood dogs, the Khaleej Times reported.

The woman added that she had enlisted the help of friend to help clear up her apartment after the killing. During questioning, the woman’s friend said she did not witness the crime, but said she did notice blood stains in the woman’s home.

The accused has reportedly been sent to hospital for mental health checks, pending trial.
