Libya’s Haftar accuses Belgium of supporting terrorism

Brigadier General Khalifa Haftar will soon sue authorities in Belgium who he has accused of supporting terrorism in Libya, his spokesperson said.

Ahmed Al-Mesmari said:  “Belgium has delivered weapons to armed fighters in the west of Libya and supported terrorism. We may employ various methods to prosecute Belgian authorities and we have documents that prove our allegations.”

Al-Mesmari stated during a press conference that He added: “We have evidence of the involvement of Ali Al-Sallabi, Abdelhakim Belhaj and Khalid Al-Sharif in delivering dangerous Chinese weapons to extremists in the city of Derna.”

Al-Mesmari unveiled information about the existence of “an Italian aircraft carrying out reconnaissance operations to endorse Libya’s counterterrorism efforts.” He stressed that the battle against terrorism has not ended, warning of attempts to divide Libya.
