Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Abul-Gheit said yesterday that the organisation is to discuss the Saudi vision on tourism investment during the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit which will be held in Beirut, Al-Mesryoon reported.
Afterwards, Abul-Gheit said, the vision is to be raised to the Arab League summit slated to be held in March in Tunis.
He noted that tourism sector suffered too much during the past few years in many Arab states, noting that it has recently started to recover.
Many efforts are being exerted by Arab states to develop their tourism sectors, he added.
Meanwhile, he stressed on the important connection between tourism and culture, noting that tourism is considered a very important activity to impart culture.
The Saudi vision was proposed during the meeting of the Arab tourism ministers held in Alexandria Library and chaired by Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz.
