A missing Dubai princess has been pictured alive for the first time since being returned to the UAE.

Princess Sheikha Latifa, 33, was last seen on 5 March being dragged into a rubber boat by Indian and Emirati soldiers as she tried to flee Dubai on board a yacht, according to reports.

Latifa was reportedly missing off the coast of Goa, in India, with American national Jean-Pierre Herve Jaubert, a former French intelligence agent and author.

In the 40-minute video released on social media, Latifa claims she has been “imprisoned, tortured, beaten and censored” throughout her life as the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

But yesterday she was pictured for the first time since her return, alongside Mary Robinson, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and former President of Ireland.

The UAE said in a statement: “Photographs taken during the afternoon they spent together have been shared, with their consent. During her visit to Dubai, Mary Robinson was reassured that HH Sheikha Latifa is receiving the necessary care and support she requires.”
