FM: Egypt supports Saudi efforts to ensure its security, stability

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri has affirmed his country’s full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts to ensure the north African state’s security and stability.

This came during a meeting between Shukri and Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council, who is currently visiting Cairo.

The meeting discussed means of developing joint relations as well as regional issues of mutual interest.

Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ahmed Hafez, said that Shukri praised the depth and strength of Egyptian-Saudi relations as well as the level of cooperation between the Egyptian and Saudi parliaments.

According to Hafez, the two officials discussed Saudi economic reforms and the Saudi vision towards achieving more successes.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Sheikh stressed the close and distinguished relations between the two countries and praised Egypt’s continuous efforts to deal with various challenges in the region, the positive developments witnessed by the Egyptian economy, expressing Saudi Arabia’s full support for the north African state.
