Israeli forces detain 20 Palestinians in West Bank raids

Israeli forces detained at least 20 Palestinians during overnight raids across districts of the occupied West Bank.The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces detained one Palestinian from the southern West Bank district of Hebron; he was identified as Muhammad Rubin Shweiki, Ma’an News reports.

In the Bethlehem district, also in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from the Beit Fajjar town, they were identified as Abed al-Latif Ahmad Thawabteh, 28, Ahmad Nasr Thawabteh, 22, and Rami Ali Taqatqa, 24.Another Palestinian was detained from the al-Khader in southern Bethlehem; he was identified as Salah Rizq Salah.

PPS added that five Palestinians were detained from the Kafr Nimeh and Sinjil towns in the central West Bank district of Ramallah and al-Bireh; they were identified as Nafez Abed Alaal Abdullah, Suleiman Muhammad al-Dik, Ramzi Ribhi Ataya, Hussein Muhammad Asfour and his brother Suleiman.

In the northern West Bank district of Tubas, Israeli forces detained five Palestinians identified as Abdullah Jihad Bani Odeh, Adam Abed al-Aziz Bani Odeh, Muhammad Abed al-Aziz Bisharat, Alaa Mamun Daraghmeh and Ihab Muhammad Daraghmeh.

Another five Palestinians were detained from the northern West Bank district of Jenin; they were identified as Qais Adnan al-Ghoul, Thaer Marie, Bahaa Rahhal, Anas Issam Suqieh and Anas Abu Rayyan.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there are 5,500 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons.
