Palestinians in West Bank, Gaza being interviewed for jobs in Qatar

A Qatari team arrived in the occupied West Bank yesterday and met Palestinian Education Minister Sabri Saidam in preparation to holding interviews with teachers who have applied to work in the Gulf state, Al Jazeera reported.

The team consists of the Deputy Qatari Education Minister Fawzia Al-Khater and are to conduct the interviews in the head office of the Palestinian ministry in Ramallah and in Al-Aqsa University in the Gaza Strip.

Saidam stressed on the “deep” relationship between Palestine and Qatar, mainly in the field of education.

He pointed out that the ongoing recruitment of Palestinian teachers is one of the outcomes of a deal signed between Palestine and Qatar.

Meanwhile, Al-Khater reiterated the “strong cooperation” between Qatar and Palestine and the “continuous” Qatari support for the Palestinians to regain their rights and establish their independent state.

Al-Khater concluded: “Qatar chose to recruit Palestinian teachers because of its credibility and their diverse skills.”
