Report: Israel killed 8 Palestinians, wounded 810 in February

Israeli occupation forces killed eight Palestinians, including four children, and wounded 810 others in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, an official Palestinian report revealed yesterday.

The report, which was issued by the PLO’s Abdullah Al-Horani Centre for Documentation and Studies, also said that Israel arrested 500 Palestinians and demolished 43 Palestinian homes and facilities.

According to the report, six of the eight fatalities were killed during the protests in Gaza and two in the West Bank. The number included Faris Baroud, 51, who died in prison.

Baroud, who spent 28 years in prison died as a result of medical negligence and Israel is still keeping his body along with the bodies of 37 other Palestinian martyrs in a “flagrant violation” of international humanitarian laws.

Most Palestinians were detained in the wake of the reopening of Al-Rahma Gate in the Al-Aqsa MOsque compound in occupied Jerusalem.

Of those wounded, 710 were injured during the “Great March or Return” protests in the besieged Gaza Strip, and they include four paramedics and three journalists.

The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights said that the Israeli occupation forces wounded 83 civilians during the crackdown on the protests of “Great March of Return” yesterday, including 23 children, one woman, three paramedics and a journalist.
