Lavrov was received by several top Kuwaiti officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled al-Jarallah and Kuwaiti Ambassador to Russia Abdulaziz al-Adwani.

According to Kuwaiti diplomatic sources, Lavrov hopes to discuss pressing regional issues, including the situations in Yemen, Syria and Libya, and the future of Gulf-Iranian relations.
