Iran did not attend the 14th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States (PUIC) conference taking place in Rabat, Morocco, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Turkish delegation inquired during the 21st session of the PUIC General Committee yesterday morning about the reasons for the Iranian absence, however, PUIC Secretary-General, Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, said the absence of the Iranian delegation is out of his control.

“We hope that such matters will not be repeated among our brothers, and to take a lesson so that no member is absent,” he added.

The Moroccan authorities were not immediately available for comment on the reasons for the Iranian delegation’s absence.
