US President Donald Trump is to host Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi at the White House on 9 April, The White House announced yesterday.
According to Anadolu, Trump and Al-Sisi would talk about strengthening the strategic partnership between the US and Egypt, as well as discuss issues of common interests in the Middle East.
Both presidents will discuss “building on our robust military, economic and counterterrorism cooperation,” as well as regional economic integration and “Egypt’s longstanding role as a lynchpin of regional stability”.
This announcement came a couple of days after the visit of the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shukri, who met with several US officials to discuss issues of common interest.
