Algerian businessman Ali Haddad placed in custody

Ali Haddad, pro-Bouteflika businessman and main funders of Bouteflika’s electoral campaigns was arrested by Algerian police, in Algiers, shortly after President Abdelaziz Bouteflika resigned yesterday.

He is facing corruption charges and has been placed in custody, Ennahar TV reported on Wednesday.

Earlier this week, Algerian authorities seized the passports of a dozen businessmen under investigation over corruption allegations.
