Head of Movement of Society for Peace Abderrazak Makri commented, on Wednesday, on the scene in his country after the resignation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, talking about what he described as a “well-planned plot.”

In a post on his Facebook page, Makri questioned Bouteflika’s loss of consciousness:

“No one dares to taunt us. What is important is that Bouteflika’s era is indeed over. However, I cannot believe – and I am the doctor – that Bouteflika was in a coma and getting artificial respiration, and a few hours later, he appears sitting holding the papers of resignation.”

The Algerian politician wondered:

“If he was held during all these major events – and for a long time as it has been said – how could the state accept his absence and does not look for him to save him? There should be a well-planned plot to delude our minds.”

He added:

“History will prove that I was not among the fooled people. There is no doubt that these images would be beneficial for the outsiders who desperately insist that there was no military coup, but what matters is the end. There is nothing wrong with the possibility that the plot served Algeria’s interest and liberated the Algerians. What is more important is that Algeria has succeeded even though we do not understand what has happened.

However, if the result of such a plot is the continuation of the cunnings and machinations for domination and control of power as well as the reoccurrence of corruption, that will be clear, too.

He concluded by saying:

“I swear with the one and only Allah we will combat it (corruption). We will continue the peaceful political resistance for our country, for the sake of Allah and our tribute to the martyrs and the strugglers, as we did before and more, no matter how much that would cost us and even if we remained alone. We will continue this until Allah grants us the victory of the truth and until our country’s matters improve. There is no doubt that this would happen- otherwise, we will lose a lot.”
