The US’ decision to blacklist the Iranian Revolutionary Guards does not contribute to stabilising the region, the spokesman of Iraq’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said yesterday.
“Our region needs decisions that contribute to stability,” Al-Sahhaf said, “however, the last US decision about the Iranian Revolutionary Guards does not come in this frame.”
“Our stance is clear. We will not agree on making the land of Iraq a position or a passage for causing harm to any neighbouring country.”
In addition, he said: “We are not part of political alliances and we will not be part of the axis games, but we will be an active part in any initiative that will have a positive impact on the region.”
