Senior Likud member Yisrael Katz said yesterday that now that his party is once again heading the Israeli government, it will impose its sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, mainly over the settlements, Channel 12 reported.

According to the Palestinian newspaper Al-Resalah, which reported the Israeli TV channel, Katz said that the issue of imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank would be coordinated with the US.

Katz stressed that the new Israeli government would not be a national unity one, but a right-wing government, noting that the former Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman is likely to be part of the new government.

Initial results of the Israeli elections for the 21st Knesset shows equal number of seats for the Likud and the White and Blue alliance, however with the support of a number of right-wing parties, Likud has come on top.
