Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel warning advising its citizens not to visit Egypt’s Sinai during the Passover holiday, local media reported yesterday.

The ministry’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau warned Israel National News said, that “the serious threat of terror attacks against tourists in the Sinai Peninsula, including Israelis, continues in the immediate term.”

At the same time, the bureau “called on all Israelis who are currently in the area to leave immediately and return to Israel.”

Signs in Hebrew and Arabic have been posted at the crossing, the Israeli news outlet said, warning Israeli citizens not to carry objects that might get them into trouble with Egyptian law enforcement authorities, such as bullets, car cameras, drones, and drugs, including medical cannabis.
