Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said yesterday that he will present a report of his meeting with Syrian regime President Bashar Al-Assad to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“I had a long meeting with Assad in Syria. I will be presenting a report of these talks to Mr. Erdogan,” Zarif told reporters after a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, in Ankara.

Zarif explained that there are a number of issues that Iran and Turkey do not fully agree on with regards to Syria, adding that his country continues consultations with Turkey, Russia and the United Nations on the formation of a constitutional drafting committee for Syria.

The Iranian minister stressed that his country understands Turkey’s concerns and the threat of terrorism against it, adding that the only solution to ending this problem is by re-deploying the Syrian army on the border.
