A young Palestinian man shot by Israeli forces last week died at an Israeli hospital on Saturday.
Palestinian Health Ministry said in a written statement that 20-year-old Omar Avni Yunus, shot by Israeli troops on April 20, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital near Tel Aviv.
Yunus was critically injured after being shot by Israeli forces at a checkpoint in occupied West Bank. According to Israeli authorities, Yunus was attempting to attack one of it’s soldiers.
Similar incidents took place in the West Bank in the past with the Israeli military citing stabbing attempts by Palestinians as a reason for opening fire.
