The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has appointed Fahd Ibrahim Al-Mana, as the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The news agency said the Emir had issued a decree concerning the country’s “extraordinary” relations with the Kingdom of Morocco in which he named Mr Al- Mana as the new ambassador to Morocco after Abdullah Bin Falah Al-Dosari who had completed his diplomatic mission in Rabat.

The decision comes days after the Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita’s visit to Doha, where he met with Sheikh Tamim and conveyed a message from King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

The Moroccan foreign minister has also visited Kuwait and Bahrain.

The decision also comes amid media reports that the UAE ambassador to Rabat has “abruptly” left Morocco.

“Ambassador Ali Salem al-Kaabi has left at the request of Emirati President Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan” Moroccan Akhbar al-Youm newspaper reported without giving further details.
