Stray bullet kills Iraq man at his wedding

A wedding celebration in the Iraqi province of Babil turned into a tragedy when the groom was killed by celebratory gun fire.

Saif Saad was shot dead on his wedding night in the city of Qassim in Babil province when he was hit by a stray bullet, an Iraqi security source told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

The source said the authorities were investigating the incident and will try to identify the culprit.

Retired Brigadier General, Falah Al-Kawaz, has called for restrictions on arms, adding that “the Iraqi authorities should focus on the weapons carried by clans in the southern provinces whose sons received them as a result of their participation in the Popular Mobilisation Forces in their fights against Daesh”.
