Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum yesterday arrived in Saudi Arabia where he was received by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

King Salman received Boukadoum in his office at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh to discuss  the latest regional and international developments.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Foreign Minister, Ibrahim Al-Assaf, and Algeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Ahmed Abdel Sadouq.

Boukadoum is the first Algerian official to visit Saudi Arabia since the resignation of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Bouteflika stepped down last month, bowing to pressure from the army and after weeks of demonstrations mainly by young people seeking change.

Protests have continued with millions calling for new elections.
