Saudi activist Loujain Al-Hathloul has been electrocuted, suffered sexual harassment and death threats under the supervision of top government advisor Saud Al-Qahtani who personally threatened to rape and kill her, Al-Hathloul’s sister has revealed.

In an interview with France24, Alia said several men sexually harassed Loujain while she’s been held in detention and forced her to eat excessively during Ramadan.

She pointed out that the accusations against her sister, including “applying for a job to the United Nations and contacting human rights organisations”, are nothing more than revenge for her activism.

The French channel said the “Al-Hathloul family broke their silence to tell the world about the suffering of prisoners of conscience in Saudi Arabia including repression, ill-treatment and the collective punishment affecting their families.”

In March, Saudi Arabian women’s rights activists, including Loujain, stood trial for the first time since their arrest over nine months ago.
