1 killed as Israel bombs Gaza

A Palestinian has been killed and scores injured today as Israel began striking the Gaza Strip.

Drones, helicopters and tanks were used to strike Beit Lahiya in the north of the Strip and around Gaza City.

One Palestinian was killed as a result of strikes while seven were injured as the attacks continued throughout the day.

Head of Coordination Committee for the Entry of Goods Raed Fattouh told local media that as a result of the strikes Israel has decided to close the Kerem Shalom commercial crossing from tomorrow until further notice.

The Syndicate of Palestinian Fishermen also reported that Israel had completely banned fishing today, affecting the livelihood of thousands.
While the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that it had heightened its level of preparedness to accommodate any increase in the number of wounded Palestinians.

Resistance factions in Gaza said they would respond to Israel’s attacks with rocket fire into farms around the enclave.

Over the past 36 hours, occupation forces have killed three Palestinians and wounded dozens more, the majority of whom were taking part in the peaceful protests along the Gaza-Israel fence.
