Some 13 Palestinian schools in Gaza were severely damaged in the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of 27 Palestinians and wounded 156 others.

In a statement, the education ministry in Gaza said that windows and doors of these schools were damaged and the walls cracked.

The statement also said that the shrapnel of the Israeli rockets and debris of the targeted buildings and places directly hit the classrooms.

The ministry expressed its “strong condemnation” regarding the Israeli attacks on Gaza that damaged basic infrastructure in all fields, stressing this is a violation of the international laws and conventions.

Deputy Education Minister in Gaza Ziyad Thabet called for the international community to stand up for its responsibilities and stop Israeli practices and hold it accountable for its violations.
