Israeli occupation forces stormed through the holy city of Jerusalem on Sunday night and arrested two Palestinian children after the late night prayers held specifically during the month of Ramadan, Anadolu has reported.

The children are both 16 years old. They were arrested in the Bab Al-Amoud Gate area, one of the entrances to Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli forces beat up other worshippers as well as the children. The soldiers also fired sonic grenades within and around the Noble Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa. Such bombs can cause damage to internal organs as well as the victims’ ear drums.

Armed incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and its environs occur frequently. Israeli occupation forces not only accompany armed settlers, but also carry out their own raids and eject Palestinians worshipping in the mosque, which is particularly busy during Ramadan.
