Member of Hamas’ Political Bureau Khalil Al-Hayya said yesterday that the Palestinians would thwart any plan aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.

While participating in the Great March of Return protest held yesterday to marked the 71st anniversary of the Nakba, Al-Hayya said that US President Donald Trump’s peace plan “will not pass” and that his movement “will exert efforts at all levels to thwart this it.”

Al-Hayya stressed that the Palestinian people taking part in the Nakba protests sent a message that all plans targeting their cause have failed.

He reiterated that the Palestinian refugees would return one day to their homeland, adding that the Palestinians would not allow their cause to be turned into simply a humanitarian issue.

Reaffirming his movement’s rejection of the resettlement of Palestine refugees, Al-Hayya called for ending all forms of normalisation with the Israeli occupation and lifting the siege of Gaza.
