Iranian fighter jet crashes near Persian Gulf

An Iranian fighter jet crashed in southern Iran on Sunday, according to the semi-official Mehr news agency.

The aircraft went down in the southern Bushehr province near the Persian Gulf due to "technical problems", Abdol-Hossein Rafieepour, governor of Tangestan Couny in southern Iran, said.

He said both the pilot and the co-pilot were safe.
