The Supervisory Committee on the implementation of the Prisoner Exchange Agreement between Yemen’s warring parties held a meeting yesterday in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Attended by representative of the Yemeni government and head of the Prisoner and Detainee Exchange Committee, Hadi Haig, as well as the representative of the Houthis in the committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, representatives from the Red Cross and the United Nations.

The committee reviewed the last round of observations on the comments received on the lists of prisoners submitted by the two parties earlier.

Jordan has recently approved a new request submitted by the Office of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen to hold the meeting in Amman; the headquarters of the UN Special Mission to Yemen; as part of its support for efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a political solution to the conflict.
