PLO has called for the EU to urgently interfere in order to stop Israeli settlement expansion and the annexation of the occupied West Bank, Palestinian media reported yesterday.

In a letter to the EU Envoy to Palestine, the PLO called for the European body to put pressure on Israel to stop its settlement plan in the E1 area.

The PLO letter, which was sent to the EU Foreign Policy Chief, noted that if this Israeli settlement plan is carried out, all future chances for peace based on the two-state solution would vanish.

According to the letter, this settlement plan and other Israeli settlement activities are covered by the current US administration.

“These conspiracies perpetuate the struggle among the nations of the region and make them far away from comprehensive and just peace,” the letter said.
