Israel detains 2 Palestinian minors in Hebron

March 4, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Israeli occupation forces yesterday kidnapped two Palestinian children at a checkpoint in Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers arrested two children, whose identities are not known, at a military checkpoint near the Ibrahimi Mosque.

They were then transferred to an unknown destination, the witnesses added.

The Ibrahimi Mosque lies in the Old City which is in the heart of the occupied city of Hebron, where about 500 hardline Israeli Jewish settlers live illegally under the protection of about 1,500 Israeli soldiers.

Palestinians must pass a number of Israeli military checkpoints before being allowed into the mosque which – following a massacre carried out by an extremist Jewish settler – was split to make way for a synagogue.
