Gaza, UK doctors cooperate to perform colon surgeries in Gaza

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza announced on Thursday its medical teams specialized in colon surgeries will cooperate with doctors in the United Kingdom to transfer experience via the video conference technology.

Surgical consultant at Al-Shifa Hospital, Dr Muhammad Al-Rein said the cooperation would develop the surgical capabilities of the Palestinian medical personnel in the field of colon surgery in Gaza.

Dr Al-Rein pointed out that the meetings will include several specialized medical support specializations such as internal radiology specialities, oncology surgeons and several other specialities. He explained that colectomy is a complex operation and has many complications.

Dr Al- Rein valued the efforts made by the health ministry in Gaza and the Medical Aid for Palestinians to open new horizons for medical cooperation and develop the capabilities of Palestinian medical teams.
