Algeria president to deliver speech before Tunisia Parliament

The Speaker of Tunisian People’s Assembly (Parliament), Rached Ghannouchi, said Thursday that the parliament’s office held a meeting today, during which an extraordinary plenary session next Tuesday in the presence of Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune.

In an exclusive statement to Arabi 21, Ghannouchi stated that “the Algerian president will address the Tunisian people during the parliamentary session.”

For his part, Tarek Ftiti, Second Deputy Speaker, told Arabi21 that the scheduled plenary session would be attended by the Tunisian diplomatic corps, parties’ leaders and national organizations.

This is Abdelmajid Tebboune’s first visit to Tunisia. According to a presidency source, Tebboune’s visit to Tunisia will start next Monday.
