The besieged Gaza Strip has imposed a night curfew as a second wave of coronavirus spreads across the enclave.
Gaza has seen its covid infection rates triple in recent weeks from 200 a day to 600, the Ministry of the Interior said
The department’s spokesperson, Iyad Al-Bazm, said: “Police are working hard to implement night curfews, monitoring the closure of all facilities, with the exception of pharmacies, prohibiting vehicles from travelling on the roads, and preventing citizens from walking in the streets.”
Al-Bazm also stated that the Ministry of Interior continues to intensify police patrols to follow up on preventive measures in all sectors, implement safety measures in markets, and stopping weddings with more than 100 guests.

He expressed his hope that the people will adhere to the rules in order to face the new stage of the spread of the virus.
“The situation is alarming and therefore we call on the people to take the matter seriously and to abide by the measures in order to preserve their safety so that we can overcome this situation,” he added.
