Egypt: Sawiris' net worth up $3.3bn in 2020, Forbes says

Prominent Egyptian businessman Nassef Sawiris’ fortune has hit $8.3 billion, Forbes reported yesterday.“It appears that Sawiris’ fortune in 2020 amounted to $5 billion,” Forbes said in its annual ‘The World’s Billionaires’ report.

The business magazine added that the total fortune of Sawiris – whom it described as “a scion of Egypt’s wealthiest family” – had jumped by around $3.3 billion during 2020 when global lockdown struck as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The report added that Sawiris had ranked “297 after he stood at 330 wealthiest men in the world in 2020.” For the second consecutive year, he also ranked the second richest businessman in Africa.
