Five doctors in Gaza have died from Covid-19 since pandemic started

Five Palestinian doctors in the besieged Gaza Strip have died from Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic last year, the Ministry of Health revealed on Tuesday.

“Many doctors and medical staff have caught Covid-19,” ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra told Al-Quds Radio, “and with the second wave at its peak, there is still a high rate of infection.”

Al Qidra said that the ministry needs two or three weeks to provide an accurate evaluation of the infection conditions. He also pointed out that most deaths from Covid-19 in Gaza were among the elderly and those with underlying conditions.
