Chairman of the Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al-Emadi yesterday denied Israeli media reports claiming Israel has frozen the entry of money the Gulf state has sent to Gaza in order to distribute aid ahead of the Muslim festival of Eid.

Al-Emadi said in a statement that the funds for the Qatari grant will enter the Gaza Strip next week, and will be distributed before Eid Al-Fitr.

On Wednesday, Israeli news outlets said Tel Aviv intends to freeze the Qatari aid package from entering the Gaza Strip, citing security tensions with the Palestinian movements in the besieged enclave.
